Flashing past this door scene in a small Omani coastal village, I requested a reverse, gestured nicely with my camera and received approval for the shot…
Door life in Oman
Linking with Thursday Doors, pop on over and check out some of this week’s lovely doors….
I wonder that they thought … or did you make clear you wanted to photograph the door?

Thanks, Jesh, I wanted the whole scene. It’s not often a blonde pokes a large camera out of a car window in these remote backwaters of Oman smiling a request to photograph, women are not high priority in these areas. Good on Mr Big for his great reaction!

The group of men and the things they’re sitting on are more interesting than the door. 🙂

Thanks, Janet, yes, you are quite correct, it was an ambivalent door post this week 🙂

I find it interesting how one’s perception of ordinary scenes change once photography and drawing/painting take hold. Everything is so much more interesting…..compositions leap out. 😊

Thanks, Sue, an ordinary moment in their lives becomes a portrait in my eyes, loved the reaction of Mr Big, it was totally spontaneous to my gestured reuqest…

Guess you found the universal magic (silent) word – “your smile”. Bet you do that again you can get almost anyone agreeing to pose for a shot.
